Week 5.2

My initial working for the main page of the HTML coding:



I remembered that I wanted to create a two page website so I quickly wanted to illustrate something to represent the 'How to' Page, heres what I came up with:



Unfortunately as I was a bit rushed while creating my website I didn't think to take too many screenshots while I was in the designing process and making progress, however here are the few I do have testing out different fonts and headers etc. 


After playing with the header for a while and trying to make it look good, eventually I decided that I would just make two 'banner' type things which will still say the title yet will add more interest and more of the aesthetic that I want to come through in this website. 

Here are the 'banner' titles I made - I think they look much more interesting than the plain old letters I had before and will grab the attention of the viewer (especially a kid). 





Heres how the banner looks with the website. 


This screenshot was of me trying out Arial font. 



And these screenshots were of me trying out Times New Roman font, I went with Arial in the end because I liked the simplicity of it and thought it was very easy to read

Week 1

After Monday's class, me and my partner Annabelle (Group 16) decided that we wanted to use "trees" as our topic, under the heading of Climate Change - however we both agree that they can help with other issues too. Above is the initial brainstorm I did followed by some brief research about the topic just to get me started and thinking about everything. Below is my mood board, I am thinking of going with a simple, illustrative style but I will have to see what my partner thinks also. The colour palette I am leaning towards is very simple with lots of green and a few pops of pastel. I want my website/animation to represent and discuss the importance of plants and the positive effect that they can have not only on the environment but our wellbeing as humans.

Week 4

This week I am really just focusing on getting my illustrations done so I can start doing the motion graphics on After Effects.  Today I drew up this house which I am planning on having twice in one scene, once in a sad, polluted world with no plants, and second in a happy clean environment with lots of plants - bright colours etc. I think if I do it right this should turn out as an effective transition. Unfortunately things did not work out with my partner so will be proceeding solo and only need to do one motion graphic. Here is a tree I did which I plan on incorporating into a few of my illustrations to create the appearance of a lush, healthy earth which is what I am going for.  Here is a city I drew for the same purpose as the house, to use as a base for my transition scene where the earth is sad and then turns to happy and healthy.
